THERAPY DESIGNED TO BE DIFFERENT

Therapy here is tailored for adults navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, burnout, and overwhelm.

Sessions are trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and practical, helping you build skills, understand patterns,
and create strategies that actually work in daily life.

Whether you’re looking for help with focus, emotional regulation, executive functioning, or stress relief,
the goal is always the same: support that meets you where you are.

How Sessions Work

Sessions are primarily talk therapy—structured conversations where we explore thoughts, feelings, and patterns while integrating tools and strategies that fit your brain and your life.

Each session is:

  • Tailored to you – paced to your energy and needs

  • Practical – skills and strategies that translate to daily life

  • Collaborative – you guide the goals, and we work together to achieve them

  • Flexible – room for reflection, processing, or action depending on what you need that day

Sessions typically last 50 minutes, and frequency is determined collaboratively based on your goals and availability.

Areas of Focus

I work with adults on a variety of challenges, including:

  • ADHD & executive functioning – planning, organization, follow-through, task initiation

  • High-functioning or late-identified autism – understanding patterns, communication, masking, self-advocacy

  • Chronic stress & burnout – pacing, boundaries, rest, and recovery

  • Anxiety & overwhelm – nervous system regulation, coping strategies, mindfulness

  • Emotional regulation – managing intense emotions and improving self-soothing

  • Identity & self-understanding – exploring neurodivergence, unmasking, and self-acceptance

A formal diagnosis is not required to benefit from therapy.

Meet the Therapist

Hi there,

I’m really glad you’re here. You deserve support that meets you where you are as you navigate hard seasons and build resilience in ways that actually fit you.

I’m Heather. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), helping adults navigate ADHD, high-functioning autism, burnout, anxiety, depression, and executive functioning chaos.

I graduated in 2020 with high honors from the Master of Social Work program at Northwest Nazarene University, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health — which basically means I survived grad school while mostly remembering to feed myself. Sleep was… less consistent.

After graduating, I worked in community mental health and end-of-life care. Altogether, I bring over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field.

I started my private practice, Modern Resilience in 2025 to offer thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming therapy for adults navigating stress, burnout, and life transitions.

focus on helping adults reduce overwhelm, manage anxiety, improve executive functioning, heal trauma, and navigate burnout, while honoring the way your brain naturally works.

Therapy with me is:

  • Collaborative – we set goals together and create strategies that work for you

  • Customized – no cookie-cutter solutions here; your needs guide the work

  • Evidence-based – practical, tested strategies that actually work

  • Flexible and paced – trauma-informed, respecting your capacity

As a mental health therapist, I use evidence-based treatment modalities, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to help identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical strategies for change

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills – to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and social effectiveness

  • Mindfulness strategies – to build awareness, grounding, and nervous system regulation

  • Executive functioning coaching – to support planning, follow-through, organization, and daily demands

  • Stress reduction and pacing – to prevent burnout and respect your capacity

  • Trauma-informed approaches (EMDR) – to process past experiences safely and at your pace

… and yes, I actually practice what I preach (mostly).

I like to keep it real: I’m neurodivergent, which means I occasionally often:

    • Hyperfocus on unimportant things…for hours

    • Google everything because curiosity never sleeps

    • Procrastinate like it’s a highly refined skill

    • Forget what I was doing—or saying—mid-task

    • Spend five minutes trying to remember that one word

    • Lose my phone, my keys, my notes, and sometimes my train of thought…all at once

    • Start a new project, get super excited, and then completely forget it exists

But I also have coping mechanisms that keep me afloat:

    • Swimming and kayaking (sometimes in the right order)

    • Interior design experiments that may or may not end in Pinterest fails

    • Trying new hobbies just to see what sticks

    • Listening to my nervous system — it’s a fan of sleeping in

    • Quality time with the humans who know me and my messes best

I share these quirks because they shape how I understand clients—I get the mix of chaos, humor, frustration, and brilliance that comes with neurodivergence.

    Personal Note

I bring my own neurodivergent experience, blunders and burnout survival skills to therapy, so you don’t have to navigate this alone. I create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported—and occasionally laugh at life’s absurdities.

I welcome you exactly as you are, even if that includes losing your keys for the fifth time this week.

    Let’s Connect

Starting therapy doesn’t have to be scary—or boring. If you think we might be a good fit, reach out schedule a free consultation or send a message with any questions.

TLDR: I’m here for you because none of us can adult alone, especially when we have a difficult time focusing.

    Can’t wait to meet you.

    Sincerely,

    Heather Croft, LCSW
